Run-egal 10km 2010
Dunfanaghy, Donegal
The Run-egal 10k takes place in Donegal on Sunday 6th June 2010 at 10am. The idea behind the Run-egal 10k is to offer us all a real challenge, and raise money for The Donegal Hospice.
The 10k course is set in the rugged North West of Donegal, in the small town of Dunfanaghy. The run takes place around the sea cliffs of Horn Head on Sunday 6th June. You run from Dunfanaghy, at the foot of the hill, to the cliff peaks of 728 feet above sea level at the 5k mark.
The good news is, it is all downhill from here, with breathtaking views to accompany you on the journey back.
Looking forward to seeing one and all there. Good luck with the training!

Run for Charity
Raising additional funds for a charity of your choice is optional and really worth considering. Many charities are struggling to stay afloat due to a decrease in government funding and corporate donations. Although this event is organized and run by Galway Simon Community, you are able to raise sponsorship money for the charity that is closest to your heart. To fundraise, just follow this simple process:
Step 1. Register for the Womens Mini Marathon Galway.
Step 2. Contact your chosen charity and ask for a sponsorship pack.
Step 3. Ask, ask, ask! The more people you ask to sponsor you on your run, the more money you will raise for your charity. It is worth the effort!
Run for Galway Simon and receive free entry!
If you choose Galway Simon as your nominated Charity and you manage to raise €150 through sponsorship, we will refund you your registration fee. Simply register for the event as normal, contact Galway Simon for a sponsorship pack, and if you manage to raise over €150, then you will receive your initial registration fee of €25 back. Your sponsorship money will help Galway Simon provide care, accommodation and supportive services to women and children who rely on us on a daily basis.
About the Event:
The fundraising team at Galway Simon Community created the Womens Mini Marathon Galway to raise vital funds and awareness for women and children in our community that are experiencing homelessness. You may not know, but over 30% of Galway Simon’s service users are female. The fundraising team wanted to create a professionally organized mini marathon where every cent raised would go towards charity.
Sponsors
For a second year running, our Main Sponsors of the event are Bon Secours Hospital Galway and NRG Health and Fitness Club. We are indebted to both sponsors for their generosity and support.
Spread the Word
We would really appreciate your help with one more thing - because we are only in our second year, we would love if you could spread the word of the event - let family, friends and colleagues know about it. This 10km event mini marathon is targeted at runners, joggers and walkers, so irrespective of their level of fitness, they can take part too.
Thank you, and we hope to see you at the starting line!
